The International Canoe Federation gives its slalom committee the power to help athletes double up by ensuring race programmes reflect their needs. Trainer Jean-Yves Cheutin welcomes the decision, saying it means nothing less than double canoe’s survival as a competitive sport.

Fabien, Denis and Jean-Yves (their trainer) visit Vajda, their sponsor and boat constructor in the suburbs of Bratislava, for talks on adjustments to their double canoe and repairs to their training boats….
Tacen: Impressions & The Video(s)
Fabien and Denis train in Tacen (Slovenia) in the pool, with its daunting initial drop, that will host the 2010 world championships. On the fourth and final day, they sail in Tacen in the morning, then hop across the border into Slovakia and test the waters in the pool that will host this year’s Europeans.

Our Paddlers from Pau head for Slovenia and Slovakia to train in the pools that will host this year’s European and World championships. Denis has a real soft spot for these two pools and can’t wait to test the water…
East European Challenge (1): The Rivals
Fabien and Denis head for Eastern Europe to train in the venues of this year’s European and World championships. In Slovakia, they will sail alongside the Hochschorner brothers, the 2008 C2 Olympic champions who have the chance of a fourth successive title in London in 2012. Fabien lists his objectives.
